This property has been in the same family ever since its creation in the twelve century. Today, Canisy is owned and managed by Comte Denis de Kergorlay being the oldest male in the family, inherited from his father according to the aristocratic tradition. Comte Denis was the first to decide opening the chateau as

a private chateau receiving guests. But not as a chateau-hotel nor the typical “chateau-prive.” It all started with “Les Amis de Canisy” an association Denis formed because there were so many friends who liked coming to Canisy for the weekends (frequently more than 30 at a time), that he decided to ask for contributions for the upkeep of the chateau. He invested all the funds in refurbishing the rooms. The property is absolutely magnificient even pictures are not enough to describe it. Each room is different and there are not set prices. At Canisy one can enjoy the splendor of the true “Vie de Chateau” and feel at home.

 

The Chateau of Canisy offers four suites and fifteen rooms for the accommodations of small groups up to 30 persons. This number can be slightly increased by adding supplementary rooms located in the outbuildings on the grounds of the chateau (8 rooms). The Chateau de Canisy can be exclusively rented for private parties, anniversaries, weddings, corporate meetings, etc. Whether it is for private gatherings or for corporate meetings, all those who have stayed at Chateau de Canisy keep a very vivid memory of the experience of being hosted in this historic place. Set prices are established for an exclusive rental of the chateau and their amount depends on the number of participants and length of stay. Meals are prepared and served by the chateau staff and activities on the parc are included in the set price such as jogging, horseback riding, mountain bike in the 600 acres of the property, and tennis in the parc.
