“Cooking with The Masters”

 

MBI is pleased to announce the beginning of its series “Cooking with the Masters” offered at Ferrandi, l’Ecole Superieure de Cuisine Francaise in Paris. This program will be offered twice yearly, spring & fall.

 

Saturday, October 11 ~ Departure for France, UA #942, Chicago/Paris, departing Chicago at 6:20 pm.

 

Sunday, October 12 ~ Arrival in Paris, Charles de Gaulle Airport at 9:40 am. Transfer to the quaint Hotel Sainte-Beuve in the St. Germain district for 6 nights. Rest of day at leisure. Welcome dinner at the world famous brasserie La Coupole.

 

Monday, October 13
9:00 am – 12:30 pm/Hands-on – Parisian Bistro Cooking at Ferrandi.

12:30 – 2:30 pm/Lunch/Degustation.

Evening at leisure.

 

Tuesday, October 14

9:00 am – 12:30 pm/Hands-on – Mediterranean Cooking.

12:30 – 2:30 pm/Lunch/Degustation.

Evening at leisure.

 

Wednesday, October 15

9:00 am – 12:30 pm/Hands-on – All about Fat Duck, Foie Gras & more.

12:30 – 2:30 pm/Lunch/Degustation.

Evening at leisure.

 

Thursday, October 16 ~ Early visit o Rungis, the largest open market in the world with breakfast at the market. Departure for the Champagne region & a visit to Champagne Mumm to include the vat room, cellars & production facilities, a tasting of various Mumm champagnes and a sumptuous champagne & food pairing luncheon at the Moulin de Verzenay overlooking the vineyards. Afternoon, visit of the Cathedral of Reims, the site of the coronation of France’s Kings. Reims is one of France’s most historic cities. Return to Paris. Evening at leisure.

 

Friday, October 17 ~ After breakfast, visit of Maison Grand Marnier with degustation in Neauphle-le-Chateau. Lunch at the Brasserie du Theatre. Afternoon, guided visit of the Potager du Roi, the original garden of Louis XIV. Optional, visit of the Palace of Versailles the Palace  of Versailles, which was originally built in the 16th century as a simple lodge for Louis XIII. It was expanded into the opulent palace that housed the kings through Louis-Phillipe I. Farewell dinner at Restaurant Les Vendanges with presentation of diplomas.

 

Saturday, October 18

Entire day at leisure for sightseeing, shopping & the discovery of the museums in the “City of Light.”

 

Sunday, October 19

After breakfast, transfer to airport for return flight to U.S., UA #943, Paris/Chicago, departing Paris at 11:20 a.m., arriving Chicago at 1:45 pm.

Cooking with the Masters, October 11-19

$3,695.00 per person, double occupancy. Single supplement - $1,050.00

 

This complete culinary package includes: round-trip airfare, 7 nights hotel accommodations at the Hotel Sainte Beuve with daily breakfast, meals as per the itinerary, ground transportation & transfers, professional & cultural visits as per the itinerary, all course material & recipes, diploma & a chef coat monogrammed with your name. To request space, a $1,000.00 deposit per person is due with registration. Final balance is due 60 days prior to departure. A confirmation will be mailed upon receipt of your registration. Itinerary may be subject to change. Price subject to change subject to the fluctuation of the euro exchange rate. This culinary adventure is available from other U.S. cities with airfare quoted accordingly. Land packages only & extended stays in Paris, other cities in France or Europe also available upon request.
